The characters shown in this calligraphy are 南無大悲觀世音菩薩:
Namu : 南無, homage
Daihi : 大 悲, great compassion
Kanzeon : 觀世音, Avalokiteshvara
Bosa : 菩薩, Bodhisattva.
The calligraphy invokes the compassionate activity of Avalokiteshvara, the great Bodhisattva who promised to free al sentient beings from suffering. I have brushed 'Namu daihi kanzeon bosa' in gentle brush strokes in the regular style of Japanese/Chinese calligraphy. The calligraphy has a clear and steady presence of the enlightened activity that springs forth from this Mahāsattva.

The main feature of my art work is to grab the moment of inspiration and express in its fullness with the brush. My medium is ink and natural pigments on rice paper.
