Description
Evocation of the Buddha-Mind, Clear and Bright, Zen Calligraphy
A calligraphy of the verse 'My Mind Like is like the Autumn Moon' and a moon-like Enso evoke the ever clear and bright nature of our mind, the Buddha Mind.
My mind is like the autumn moon, is the first line of a poem written by the Tang poet Han Shan, the Chinese Zen hermit poet called Cold Mountain.
The poem reads as following:
My heart is like the autumn moon
perfectly bright in the deep green pool
nothing can compare with it
you tell me how it can be explained.
The characters are brushed in a subtle cursive style which adds a cool feeling to the artwork.
The characters are:
吾 my
心 heart
似 like
秋 autumn
月 moon
You can find this poem by Han Shan, in the 'Collected Songs of Cold Mountain', a marvelous translation of Han Shan's poetry by Red Pine.
