This Japanese watercolor painting shows a small basket of mandarines. After visiting the local market, a friend brought the artist these mandarin oranges as a gift and inspired by the vivid orange color she painted them at once. The mandarins show different shades of orange as if they were glowing in the Mediterranean winter sun.
About Nadja Van Ghelue
My gallery presents calligraphies and paintings that breathe the spirit of contemporary Chinese and Japanese brush art. The main feature of my art work is to grab the moment of inspiration and express in its fullness with the brush. My medium is ink and natural pigments on rice paper.
