Description
Tradition wants it that Zen started with "Holding a flower, a gentle smile", Buddha Sakyamuni holding a flower and his head disciple Mahakasyapa gently smiling.
This is my version of this magical moment. Against a cobalt blue sky the white almond blossoms open, the Nenge Misho as companion.
The kanji for Nenge Misho are:
拈 hold
華 flower
