Description
This is a semi-cursive calligraphy of Mushin (Jap.), or Wuxin (Chin.) translated as No-thought, No- mind, or as Freedom from Thought. Mushin is the core principle of Zen practice and Chinese/Japanese martial arts.
The calligraphy shows the two kanji
無 MU, - no
心 SHIN, - heart, mind
What does Mushin, No-thought mean?
As I understand it, it is living with a straightforward mind, in all activities,
sitting, standing or walking, cultivating one’s mind, not clinging to anything, thought after thought, acting in accordance with one’s Buddha nature, moving freely and spontaneously.
