Artist's Description

The words Namo Dai Bosa invoke the Great Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, called Kannon in Japanese or Kuan-yin in Chinese, who represents the female strength of loving kindness in Buddhism, similar to the Virgin Mary, the Christian inspiration of loving care and compassion.

You can find more info on Namu Dai Bosa together with another less cursive version of this calligraphy at my web page
http://www.theartofcalligraphy.com/zen-calligraphy-scroll-namu-dai-bosa

I have brushed Namu Dai Bosa, Homage To The Great Bodhisattva Of Loving Kindness, in an unrestrained semi-cursive style of Japanese calligraphy. The kanji are :

南 無 NAMU - pay homage to
大 DAI - great
菩 薩 BOSATSU - bodhisattva.

The subjects covered in the calligraphy section are mainly related to Zen and Buddhism and martial arts. As for the painting gallery you will find...
